September 2016 Newsletter August was full of all kinds of excitement: The Pacific Jewel arrived and over 1000 passengers disembarked. Most spent the weather-perfect day walking around Mooloolaba. October newsletter 2014 September has been  very busy here at Northwind. A shelter has been built over the BBQ and outdoor tables and is proving a hit with holiday makers. No more dealing with pesky umbrellas!  We also had the last of the old archway removed from the main entry and a new sign put in place at the front. The sign has caused some discussion as it is markedly different from other signage around town. July newsletter 2014 June brought a mixed bag of weather here in Mooloolaba and those of us who have acclimatized were moaning about the cold! We really do have to toughen up! The whales are back and are really putting on a show for those on whale watching cruises, the Sail Mooloolaba regatta has had a variety of events in the bay and on the canals and the Mooloolaba Bowls Club has hosted many tournaments as part of the Sunshine Coast Bowls Bonanza. Buderim Forest Park

Buderim Forest Park is a 45 hectare oasis of subtropical rainforest less than a kilometre from Buderim village. It is hidden on the northern side of Mt Buderim and features tall eucalypts, magnificent strangler figs with their buttressed roots, vines, fungi and palms. The waters of Martins Creek fall, cascade and bubble over basalt causeways and rocks and every now and then form quiet, restful pools. All along the 1300 metre length of the walk you can hear water. Set Sail Cruises

A unique experience is available for those who want to explore their inner Jessica Watson: Set Sail Cruises depart daily from the Yacht club, 33-45 Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba at 9.00am returning at 12.00pm and at 12.30pm returning at 3.30pm,  conditions permitting. They will not sail in winds greater than 25 knots or seas greater than 2.5m. The two heated pools at Northwind Apartments are just some of the guest amenities  located on the ground floor level. There is also a sauna, gym, games room, half-size tennis court, BBQ and entertaining area, outdoor heated spa,  children’s pool and the main swimming pool.
