November 2016 Newsletter

November 2016 newsletter We experienced a couple of impressive natural events this month. A storm passed through very quickly and left us with a double rainbow! The other natural event celebrated was the super moon. Thousands of people gathered on the beach and along the water front to watch the moon rise over the sea. There was a fabulous atmosphere as everyone enjoyed the perfect weather for the event. Our guests had the perfect position for viewing the moon rise…from their balconeys. June 2016 Newsletter

June 2016 Newsletter What an autumn we have had! Unbelievably warm and only the last few nights have been cool. The national short course and long course Outriggers Regatta was held in Mooloolaba with over 50 boats out on the water competing; a truly magnificent sight as they paddled their way past Northwind. Even more impressive was the sight of all the colourful craft hauled up onto the beach after racing. They took up more than 300 metres of beach front. May 2016 Newsletter

May 2016 Newsletter May 2016 newsletter. Mooloolaba Beach was the scene of sprints and flags events for the Australian National Surf Life Saving Championships in April. The beach in front of the Surf Club was sectioned off and groomed. A large spectator stand was erected. Maroochydore and Alex beaches hosted other events over the ten days of competition. We were impressed with the organisation involved and congratulate the three surf clubs which hosted the event, the thousands of competitors, administrators and officials who took part. March 2016 Newsletter

March 2016 Newsletter The March 2016 newsletter marks the arrival of Autumn. It’s hard to believe that we’re into another autumn already! Easter and school holidays are sneaking up on us early this year.   We have been enchanted by the sight of many baby bush turkeys as we go for our walks through the revegetation zone along The Spit. We were lucky enough to see one less than a day old and were amazed but its ability to fly/scramble its way up a tree to roost.   Last week we attended the Nambour Tramfest and Chinese New Year celebration....

Happy New Year 2016

Happy New Year 2016. December brought all sorts of interesting happenings and events: international Tag teams filled Mooloolaba for almost a week; a visit from the cruise ship “The Pacific Eden” created interest mooring just out in front of Northwind with all the busy-ness of tenders transporting travellers to and from the ship; the annual Christmas Boat Parade with fantastically lit up boats of all sizes parading along the canals; and the Annual Tinnie Rally, organised by the Mooloolaba Yacht Club, where people in small boats (tinnies, inflatables, runabouts)  motor around the canals following clues and reaching checkpoints on a...

August Newsletter 2015 Pacific Pearl visit, community market, pizza and donuts

Newsletter August 2016 We have had a lovely time over the last month or so greeting many of our return guests. We judge the passage of time here by who is staying and when they leave. Pacific Pearl visit to Mooloolaba The Pacific Pearl cruised into Mooloolaba and had the good sense to moor just in front of Northwind so our guests had a great view of all the comings and goings during the day. The Wharf Community Market The Wharf Community Market on the Wharf each Friday afternoon has been revitalized, with more stalls and with more of the Wharf shops staying...

September Newsletter

Northwind Apartments September Newsletter 2014. Spring is here! We had such  a busy August with the exterior of Northwind being painted and the sail structures over the windows being removed. The abseilers had a big job removing the sails, repairing render and then painting, while the two ‘earth-bound’ painters dealt to the balconies and block walls around the perimeter. The building really looks very smart and revitalized. We have kept the same colours, so our familiar white, grey and purple still stand out as you go along Mooloolaba Esplanade. Mooloolaba has some unique dining experiences to offer visitors. One of...
