May 2016 Newsletter May 2016 newsletter. Mooloolaba Beach was the scene of sprints and flags events for the Australian National Surf Life Saving Championships in April. The beach in front of the Surf Club was sectioned off and groomed. A large spectator stand was erected. Maroochydore and Alex beaches hosted other events over the ten days of competition. We were impressed with the organisation involved and congratulate the three surf clubs which hosted the event, the thousands of competitors, administrators and officials who took part. March 2016 Newsletter The March 2016 newsletter marks the arrival of Autumn. It’s hard to believe that we’re into another autumn already! Easter and school holidays are sneaking up on us early this year.   We have been enchanted by the sight of many baby bush turkeys as we go for our walks through the revegetation zone along The Spit. We were lucky enough to see one less than a day old and were amazed but its ability to fly/scramble its way up a tree to roost.   Last week we attended the Nambour Tramfest and Chinese New Year celebration....
