June 2016 Newsletter

June 2016 Newsletter What an autumn we have had! Unbelievably warm and only the last few nights have been cool. The national short course and long course Outriggers Regatta was held in Mooloolaba with over 50 boats out on the water competing; a truly magnificent sight as they paddled their way past Northwind. Even more impressive was the sight of all the colourful craft hauled up onto the beach after racing. They took up more than 300 metres of beach front. October newsletter

October newsletter 2014 September has been  very busy here at Northwind. A shelter has been built over the BBQ and outdoor tables and is proving a hit with holiday makers. No more dealing with pesky umbrellas!  We also had the last of the old archway removed from the main entry and a new sign put in place at the front. The sign has caused some discussion as it is markedly different from other signage around town. Manager Andrew had a wonderful experience when he went out with the Sunreef team to swim with the whales. The group of whales they...

Park your car in Northwind’s free, secure car parking and spend your time...

Fishing Charters Mooloolaba Sunshine Coast

Mooloolaba is known as a fishing port: tuna boats, long-liners and prawn boats are all based in the sheltered waters of the harbour. There are excellent facilities for those who wish to bring their own boat as the boat ramp on Parkyn Parade has two large ramps as well as boat and trailer parking. For those who like to go out fishing but don’t have their own boat the next best thing is a fishing charter. We have had fantastic feedback from many guests about Mooloolaba’s Fish’n’Crab Deep Sea Charters. . Their magnificent vessel, Crusader 1 (a 55′ Westcoaster) has been converted...

Family Holidays in Winter

Family holidays in winter were a feature of this writer’s childhood. Not everyone can get to holiday with family during the summer months. The writer has many memories of winter holidays because that’s when the cows were “dry” and Dad could get a couple of days away. Here in Mooloolaba the weather never really gets too cold to enjoy the beach. The sea temperature rarely goes below 20 degrees C. With the life guards on patrol year round it is still a good place to have a swim if you are from cooler climates. With families, children seem to enjoy...
