June 2016 Newsletter

June 2016 Newsletter What an autumn we have had! Unbelievably warm and only the last few nights have been cool. The national short course and long course Outriggers Regatta was held in Mooloolaba with over 50 boats out on the water competing; a truly magnificent sight as they paddled their way past Northwind. Even more impressive was the sight of all the colourful craft hauled up onto the beach after racing. They took up more than 300 metres of beach front. March 2016 Newsletter

March 2016 Newsletter The March 2016 newsletter marks the arrival of Autumn. It’s hard to believe that we’re into another autumn already! Easter and school holidays are sneaking up on us early this year.   We have been enchanted by the sight of many baby bush turkeys as we go for our walks through the revegetation zone along The Spit. We were lucky enough to see one less than a day old and were amazed but its ability to fly/scramble its way up a tree to roost.   Last week we attended the Nambour Tramfest and Chinese New Year celebration....

February 2016 Newsletter

February 2016 Newsletter What an amazing January!: just perfect weather for Mooloolaba’s holiday makers. A visit from the cruise ship “Azamara Quest” gave our guests an opportunity to watch the comings and goings of tenders while it was moored off-shore in front of our building. We have discovered CK Coffee Bar and Wholefoods, on Brisbane Road, just opposite the carpark. They are open for coffee, breakfast, lunch, cabinet meals and homemade raw cakes from 6.00am to 4.00pm, 7 days a week. Martin and his team are committed to bringing their customers a healthier alternative, as they believe  living a healthier...

Guest blog for ShotHouse Brew Bar

This guest blog for ShotHouse Brew Bar! (careful how quickly you say that) is by Coen, owner and operator of a new espresso bar next to Northwind Beachfront Apartments. Located on Mooloolaba Esplanade, we focus on a method of coffee extraction called Pressure Profiling.  Pressure profiling is a relatively new way of enjoying espresso, it leads to more control over the shots poured and the flavour you experience! I have been traveling Australia drinking/brewing the finest coffee you can in this beautiful country for the last 5 years and now feel extremely privileged to be able to share my knowledge and coffee...
